Acrobat Distiller 9.0

Hello:

I had Frame Maker 7.2 on my windows XP machine, which had its own Distiller 7. Later I installed Acrobat Pro 9, which made me to uninstall Frame Maker's Distiller 7 and installed Acrobat Pro’s Distiller 9. Both Frame Maker and Acrobat Pro were working fine.

Suddenly the Acrobat Distiller 9 started giving problem. I couldn't print a PDF from Frame Maker. I tried opening the Acrobat distiller from the Start menu. It opens and just closes, but doesn't stay for long.

I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 9 and installed Frame Maker's Distiller 7, and then it worked fine. But the problem started again when I again installed the Acrobat Pro 9.

Adobe Distiller. Adobe Acrobat Distiller is a software application for converting documents from PostScript format to Adobe PDF (Portable Document Format), the native format of the Adobe Acrobat family of products. It was first shipped as a component of Acrobat in 1993. My sys admin is taking the Acrobat 9 off my work PC tomorrow because I can't do my job with this problem with the Distiller ICC profiles. I'm getting a new laptop next month (we all have to go to encrypted drives) so he will put my Acrobat 9 on that. I just realized though, that it will be an upgrade, not a new install.

What should I do to overcome this problem? Is there any way where I can keep Frame Maker's Distiller being overwritten by Acrobat Pro's Distiller?

Please guide me in this.
