  • I have never had this problem before updating to iTunes 12.3.0.44 this morning. Now, I am repeatedly getting a 'Your iCloud session has expired' message. I don't use any cloud music syncing, matching, Apple Radio, etc.

I have been using iTunes for the past fifteen years, gradually expanding my library by importing CD's, buying music from the iTunes store and - recently - storing Apple Music content locally. I started off with one PC + one iPod, nowadays I have iTunes running on a PC and a MacBook, I use one iPod and one iPhone. All devices are connected through iTunes Match.

To cut a long story short: my library is a mess, with different parts shattered all over the place.

The problems started (or became apparent/emerged/whatever) a few months ago, when all of a sudden large parts of my library - stored locally on my iPod - vanished. Surely I could acces my library in the cloud, using Match, but that's no use, since the Pod doesn't use data.

I tried everything. Switching iTunes match off (and on again) in the settings. Deleting the library. Restoring it by downloading the whole thing via iTunes match AND by linking the iPod with a cable to my Mac. To no avail: some parts of my library are not transferred to my iPod. On that iPod some albums of some artists are available in the cloud, but not locally. Which is a minor hick up, I can just download them from the cloud when I have a wifi connection.

Weirder: the case of the disappearing albums on my iPhone. That iPhone uses the same account, has iTunes Match switched on, but doesn't have music stored locally. Which is no problem: I have a flat rate data plan, so I can stream from the cloud. But! Some albums don't show up on my iPhone. For example: I have 23 Beck-albums (+Singles, +Ep's...) in my MacBook Library, but only 14 in my cloud-library, if I use my iPhone to acces it. That doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone else has had this problem?

Another minor but annoying hick-up: the last few weeks (I think since I had to change my password due to a hack) iTunes keeps asking me to enter my password. on startup, yes, but if i enter it, it will ask for it again after a few hours: Your iCloud music Library session has expired.
