Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 Remastered PS4 – Is It Happening?
Right now, there’s no confirmation that a Black Ops 2 Remastered PS4 release is on the cards, even though it would make sense as a companion to Cold War. There’s always a chance it may happen down the line, but we fully expect it to come to PS5 too if that’s the case.
However, we can’t really imagine a Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Remastered to come out unless the original Call of Duty Black Ops is also given an overhaul. That’s yet to be confirmed either, so for now we wouldn’t hold our breath.

Here’s the official blurb straight from the game’s official site:
A time-spanning, generation-spanning narrative, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 introduces players to an insidious villain named Raul Menendez who hijacks the US military infrastructure to further his own agenda. Harness the power of near-future technology and advanced robotics to pull the world back from the brink of annihilation.
Rooted in near-future fiction, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2 multiplayer will introduce players to some of the most cutting-edge weaponry and equipment that 2025 will have to offer.
With each passing Season, the number of remakes in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhas grown larger. While some players are tired of seeing old maps brought back, others love them — and those positive on the concept want to see a specific remake come to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Thus far, a majority of the remakes in the game have come directly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Raid came shortly after launch, with Express and Standoff following. Both Hijacked and Rush came in Season 4, and when Season 5 drops on August 12, yet another Black Ops 2 remaster will feature. This time around, the Slums will be the map to get a fresh coat of paint, something that fans should be familiar with since it also appeared in Black Ops 3 and Black Ops 4.

Slums will not be coming alone, however, as a few maps from the original Black Ops game are also being added in Season 5. The two additions, Zoo and Drive-In, were both DLC maps for the 2010 release. As such, fans have been reminded of how strong that game’s post-launch content was. This had led Reddit user naz2348 to start a thread asking Treyarch to bring back Kowloon. With the post earning nearly 2,000 upvotes, it is clear that this fan is not alone in hoping for its return.
Added to Call of Duty: Black Ops' multiplayer as part of the First Strike map pack, there were several things that stood out about the China-based map, such as its nighttime setting and neon signs. The caged monkeys also provided some atmosphere. However, it was the ziplines that truly set Kowloon apart. While the mechanic has appeared in many Call of Duty maps since, it was a game changer at the time. As pointed out by Redditor 182right, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s use of ziplines would make Kowloon a natural fit.
Call of Duty’s map remakes have almost always been for locations that were part of a game’s launch map lineup, likely because more fans had the chance to grow attached to them. However, with the additions of Rush, Zoo, and Drive-In, it seems clear that the door for DLC map remasters is now open. When it comes to Treyarch’s post-launch map additions, it is hard to think of a better choice than Kowloon. As such, hopefully fans like tuan321bin will get their wish and the map will re-appear in the future.
With only one Season left, and Yemen and Plaza remasters leaked, it seems unlikely that Kowloon will make the cut for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Still, hopefully this show of appreciation for the map will see it included in a future game.
